UTM Work–Study Scholarship (JOC)

The Work – Study Scholarship is aimed to encourage UTM students to be self-reliant and to gain some valuable working experience in campus before they enter the workforce. This program provides an opportunity to gain intensive skills development training and paid employment alongside your studies.

UTM Work-Study Scholarships Requirements
  • Work-Study Scholarship is offered to students over the duration of study until graduation.
  • The continuation of scholarship depends on the student work performance.

Terms & Conditions

  • Work-Study Scholarship are available for current and local postgraduate student in Research Mode programme.
  • Students who are on industrial attachment, professional attachment, internship and practicum are not allowed to work under the Work-Study Scholarship.
  • All students (except for students on selected scholarships administered by the university) are eligible to apply for Work-Study Scholarship.
  • Maximum Hours allowed
  •  Term Time (includes Recess week): Students are allowed to work for a maximum of 20 hours per week.
  • Vacation Time: Students are allowed to work for a maximum of 9 hours in one day or 44 hours in one week.
  • Students should note that commitments from employment will not be accepted as valid reasons for absence, uncompleted work, late submission of work, or poor performance, and may lead to exclusion from certain compulsory program of the faculty.
