  1. WHAT IS AN EARLY CERTIFICATE APPLICATION?
    • Early Certificate Application is a service offered by Academic Management Division (AMD), Department of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) to assist graduands to attain the certificate before the convocation ceremony.
  2. WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
    • All local and international graduands, Full-Time and Part-Time students: PhD, Master Degree & Bachelor Degree only.
  3. WHO IS ENCOURAGE TO APPLY?
    • International graduands that will return back to their countries and will not attend the Convocation Ceremony.
    • Graduands that need urgently for working purpose (employers’ requirements) and will attend the Convocation with a guarantee of deposits  to be paid on the event of Convocation as follows:
      • Doctorate Degree Graduands : RM1,000.00
      • Master Degree Graduands : RM800.00
      • Bachelor Degree Graduands : RM700.00​

  5. HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT?
    • Waiting time :
      • Self collect / Representative – TWELVE (12) WORKING DAYS from the date of Approval.
      • Courier – TWELVE (12) WORKING DAYS + COURIER COMPANY PROCESSING PERIOD.
  6. WHAT IS THE FEES OF APPLYING THE EARLY CERTIFICATE?
    • Fees for applying the early certificate are as follows :
      • Postgraduate Graduands : RM250.00
      • Bachelor Degree’s Graduands : RM220.00
    • Fulfilling this fees, graduands will received :
      • Official certificate and transcript;
      • Certificate folder (when attend Convocation Ceremony);
      • Robe for photo session (refer to the question “Can I Borrow/Rent the Convocation Attire?”).
  7. CAN I BORROW/RENT THE CONVOCATION ATTIRE?
    • Yes. Each Graduates can fill up this form to borrow  the complete set of convocation attire for 5 WORKING DAYS by email to amd@utm.my or submit at AMD Counter. The convocation attire need to apply and return before collecting the early certificate. Penalty of RM5.00/day to be charged for late return.
    • GET READY THE DEPOSIT FOR CONVOCATION ATTIRE ON CONVOCATION CEREMONY
    • For those who apply early certificate and want to attend the Convocation Ceremony, graduands need to pay a deposit an amount (to be paid on the event of Convocation) as follows :
      • Doctorate Degree Graduands : RM1,000.00
      • Master Degree Graduands : RM800.00
      • Bachelor Degree Graduands : RM700.00
    • Deposit will be refunded after deducting  the service fees RM80.00 and returning the Convocation Attire in good condition within 30 working days after the last day of the returning date by the University. Penalty of RM5.00/day to be charged for late return on the Convocation Attire.
  8. WHEN IS THE LAST DATE TO APPLY EARLY CERTIFICATE?
    • 9th March 2022.
  9. AM I INVITED TO THE CONVOCATION CEREMONY AFTER COLLECTING MY EARLY CERTIFICATE?
    • Yes. All graduands are invited to the Convocation Ceremony that will be decided by the University on 2021.
    • GET READY THE DEPOSIT FOR CONVOCATION ATTIRE ON CONVOCATION CEREMONY
    • However, graduands need to pay a deposit an amount (to be paid on the event of Convocation) as follows :
      • Doctorate Degree Graduands : RM1,000.00
      • Master Degree Graduands : RM800.00
      • Bachelor Degree Graduands : RM700.00
